About Student Clubs and Organizations

Student organizations are an important element in the total college experience.  In order to enrich student educational growth and personal development, the College will encourage and support student organizations and activities which provide the following experiences: 

  1. Development of professional ideals and standards.
  2. Intellectual development, particularly in fields related to classroom experiences.
  3. Development of personal and professional friendships, associations and networks.
  4. Leadership development.
  5. Dialogue about current social, economical, and cultural issues and challenges.  
  6. Service learning projects and activities, on or off campus.

The Health Science Student Group is student-led and will focus on how we can support continued education after graduation. The vision is to create opportunities for learning, growth and exploration in the medical field. As we come together we plan to fundraise in support of our continued education and organization memberships. Through these efforts, we aim to build a strong network, gain hands-on experiences, and prepare for successful careers in healthcare.

Journey Faith & Fellowship Jenny Dickerson ([email protected])

Journey Faith & Fellowship is a student-led Christian group dedicated to spiritual growth, community building, and living out faith on campus. We gather once a week for 45 minutes to grow in our understanding of God’s Word through guided discussion and prayer. Each semester, we choose a Christian workbook or devotional study to explore together, focusing on how biblical principles can be applied to our everyday lives as college students.

Outdoor Club Samantha Simonetti ([email protected]) The Wild Horizon Outdoor Club is a student-led outdoor recreation and wellness group dedicated to helping students connect with nature, build community, and support their physical and mental wellbeing.  We organize one hike and one outdoor activity each month - ranging from canoeing and sledding to local clean-up projects- offering a fun accessible way to unwind, stay active and enjoy the outdoors. Whether you’re an experienced adventurer or just looking to get outside more, all are welcome!

Baker Talent Club Randy Baker ([email protected]) Baker Talent Club is a  platform for students to practice their academic presentations (public speaking is, of course, a talent), as well as any other talents they may have, such as poetry, music, magic, etc. We  meet periodically, and  have contests . This is intended to streghten interactions and presentions using Toastmaster skills in a unique way.

Rotaract Jamie Sowa ([email protected]) Rotaract clubs bring together people ages 18 and older to exchange ideas with leaders in the community, develop leadership and professional skills, and have fun through service.

Baker College ACM Club Dr. Sherri Maciosek ([email protected]) The Baker College ACM Club is affiliated with the ACM Professional Organization (acm.org). The Club is open to any Baker College student with an interest in computers and information technology. The Club focuses on building connections between student and professional members, mentoring, developing leadership, and participating in activities that promote the computing and IT professions.
Baker College Student SHRM Chapter Ashlie Roeder ([email protected]) & Julia Keider ([email protected]) SHRM, the Society for Human Resource Management, creates better workplaces where employers and employees thrive together. The Baker College Student Chapter is a collaborative, volunteer organization seeking to improve the opportunities for students to learn more about the careers and competencies of the SHRM organization. Students can take advantage of resources and networks within SHRM and its state and local events with a student membership.

BC Human Services Club (HUS) Jessica A. Topor, PhD, LMFT ([email protected]) The Human Services (HUS) Student Club offers students the opportunity to volunteer and/or work in their communities. Health Science Club Dr. Manisha Sharan ([email protected]) Mission: The Health Science Club is dedicated to fostering a community of students passionate about health, wellness, and medical sciences. Our mission is to provide educational, professional, and service-oriented opportunities that promote academic excellence, career exploration, and community engagement in the health sciences.  Through collaboration, outreach, and hands-on experiences, we aim to empower future healthcare leaders to make a positive impact both on campus and beyond.

Purpose: The purpose of the Health Science Club is to unite students interested in health-related fields and provide a platform for academic support, career development, and community involvement. The club seeks to enhance members’ understanding of health science disciplines through guest speakers, workshops, volunteer activities, and networking events, while also promoting leadership, collaboration, and a commitment to improving public health.

MEDLIFE Student Club Bobbie Anne Gonzalez ([email protected]) Mission: The MEDLIFE Student Club is dedicated to building a global movement to empower low‑income families, ensure access to healthcare, education, and safe housing, advance awareness, fundraising, and service both locally and internationally, and emphasize sustainability, listening first, and follow-up care in all initiatives.

Purpose: MEDLIFE Student Club mobilizes students to support MEDLIFE's global efforts in combating poverty through medicine, education, and community development. 

Main Activities: Service Learning, Raising Awareness, Organizing Volunteer Opportunities Locally and Abroad, and Raise Funds to Support Underserved Communities.

Occupational Therapy Student Club Sheila Guiao ([email protected]) The Occupational Therapy Student club reinforces the clinical reasoning and critical thinking skills necessary to develop client-centered treatment choices.  Students active in the club will prepare for the national certification examination and entry-level practice with hands-on events, experiential learning, and presentations.
